What are phosphates and why are they in my pool water? Phosphates are compounds containing phosphorus, which can enter your pool through leaves, fertilizers, rainwater runoff, and even some pool chemicals. While not harmful to swimmers, they act as a nutrient source for algae, making it easier for algae to thrive.
What is No Phos Phosphate Remover used for? No Phos is ideal for reducing high phosphate levels caused by organic debris, rain, or swimmer load.
Do I need phosphates to control algae growth? Not necessarily. While phosphates feed algae, removing them alone won’t eliminate algae. You still need to maintain proper chlorine levels and use algaecide when needed. Think of phosphate remover as a preventive tool, not a cure.
Is No Phos Phosphate Remover safe for all pool types? Yes, No Phos Phosphate Remover is safe for vinyl, fiberglass, and concrete pools, but always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and avoid overdosing, which can cause cloudiness or filter clogging.
