In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Pool Safety Cover Parts & Tools

Pool Safety covers are the best thing going - they always look great with minimal care and cleaning, and can last for over a decade! However, safety covers do require some maintenance and parts replacement from time to time. Here we have assembled safety pool cover parts, tools and accessory items, to keep your pool safety cover in tip-top shape. In The Swim replacement parts and tools will fit all brands of safety covers by Buffalo, Cantar, GLI, HPI, Loop-Loc, Meyco and more. 

Brass Cover Anchors: Cover anchors should be replaced if they become inoperative. Old anchors can be removed with our Brass Anchor Removal Tool, which allows you to easily leverage old cover anchors from a concrete pool deck. Simply tap the new Brass Cover Anchor into the hole with any type of hammer, using the Anchor Tamping Tool. Thread in the pin to the anchor and connect your spring. 

Installation and Removal Tools: The main tools needed are the Cover Hex Key, a tempered steel Allen wrench of the right size to fit any brass cover anchor. Extra long hex key can be used without kneeling down, or when used horizontally, makes a fast anchor spinner. The Safety Cover Installation Rod is the second main tool that every safety cover owner needs. Notched steel tube with heavy duty handle allows for levering the strap spring over the cover anchors. For removal, twist the Installation Rod between the spring and anchor and simply lean it forward, towards the pool.

Extension Straps and Hardware: Extension Straps are used to extend the cover straps to anchors placed off the pool deck, or beyond a planter area. The Y-Strap for safety covers is used when a diving board, fountain or other large obstruction, allowing you to connect to two anchors on either side. In this section we also have replacement stainless steel safety cover Strap Buckles and cover Strap Tips. Stainless steel rings are used in place of the cover spring, in cases where a wall is tall wall is within 15" of the pool edge.

Specialty Anchors and Stakes: Specialty safety cover anchors are aluminum Cover Stakes that can be used in planter or grassy areas, or in paver pool decks. In this section we also have cover Wall Anchors used for installing safety covers on inground pools with raised wall or raised deck areas.

Springs and Spring Covers: We have two sizes of safety cover strap springs, and the vinyl covers that are used to prevent the small scratches that cover springs can make on a pool deck, as it expands and contracts. Use the 4" Short Springs only in locations where there is not enough room to use the longer 8" Cover Springs.

Storage Bags and Patch Kits: Safety Cover Storage Bag replacements for storing your safety cover safely during summer, are made of mesh cover material, with durable tie rope to cinch the bag tightly. Safety Cover Patches are made to quickly patch both solid and mesh safety pool covers with a self-adhesive heavy duty patch, 3"x8" in size, in 5 colors, and 3 types.
