Worked exceptionally well
I used algicide and Phosfree for years with an occasional shock and always been plagued with severe algae when Houston gets hot. This year I began shocking every 2 weeks and the algae buildup actually slowly disappeared. Within months it was completely gone. I believe.

Q: Will it raise the Ph level or the cya? I have an above ground pool and really do not want to use hypo

A: No shock is ideal for that situation. Both the regular pool shock and super pool shock are unstabilized, so won’t raise your CYA (cyanuric acid or stabilizer). They may raise your pH, however. The Di-zap won’t raise pH, but is stabilized. The chlorine-free shock is pH neutral and unstabilized, but not as effective a sanitizer. It is better for regular maintenance. Therefore, your best course might be to alternate treatments of regular shock and chlorine-free shock weekly and test your water regularly.

Q: How soon after shocking your pool can you swim?

A: Good practice is to shock the pool at night, then test the next day. If your chlorine is between 1-3 ppm, then it's safe for swimming.
